Ft Myers

We spent two weeks at the Cypress Trail RV Resort.  Unfortunately, the evening after our arrival there was an EF2 tornado in Cape Coral, just 15 miles from Ft Myers with many homes damaged and cars turned upside down. While others in the RV resort headed to the Clubhouse during the tornado warning we stuck it out in our coach.  We watched the palm trees swirl in the changing winds and felt six inches of rain pound our motor home in 40 mph winds.

A week later, another 8 inches of pounding rain and another tornado warning.  The water is getting closer and closer to our coach on our site.

Farm to Table

Buckingham Farms, a hydroponic farm, is about four miles from the resort. Their locally grown fruit and vegetables is produced for the local community and for sale at their country store. They serve breakfast and lunch with everything made from scratch and grown on the 50-acre farm.

Turtle House

There is a huge flea market in Fort Myers, similar to the Mesa Market in Arizona. It has a festive atmosphere and you can stroll through aisles of fun and even order pizza and a beer.

Fleamasters Fleamarket
We spent an afternoon there gawking at all the "stuff" offered for sale by 900 vendors in over 400,000 square feet all under a roof. It is open each Friday-Saturday-Sunday. Jewelry, clothing housewares fresh fruits and veggies, souvenirs, antiques, arts and crafts...oh my!
